Dash Camera Types We Install

Basic

1. Front-Facing Dash Cam (One-Way)

The entry-level model — a single camera mounted on the windshield that records everything happening on the road ahead. The most popular solution and our first recommendation for newcomers.

Advantages
  • Most affordable option on the market
  • Quick and simple installation (about 1 hour)
  • Covers most accident scenarios (front impact, lane changes, motorcycles)
  • Low power consumption — easy on the battery
  • Compact, barely noticeable
  • Single memory card — simple maintenance
Price range: ₪300–700 (camera + installation)
Recommended

2. Dual Dash Cam (Front + Rear)

Two cameras recording simultaneously — one front and one rear. The recommended solution for most customers — full coverage from all angles, essential protection against parking hit-and-runs and insurance fraud.

Advantages
  • Full coverage — including rear impacts
  • Protection from insurance fraud and hit-and-run
  • Two recording angles for every event
  • Equal image quality on the rear camera
Disadvantages
  • Higher price
  • Complex installation (wire routed front-to-rear through the car)
  • Higher power consumption
  • Two memory cards or partitioning a single card
Price range: ₪900–1,800 (two cameras + installation)
Premium

3. 4K Dash Cam with Remote Viewing

Premium models — 4K Ultra HD quality with Wi-Fi/4G for viewing through a smartphone app from anywhere in the world. Includes built-in GPS, real-time alerts, and license plate recognition at maximum quality.

Advantages
  • Excellent image quality — license plate recognition even at night
  • Live viewing from the app — even when the car is parked
  • Real-time push alerts (impact / motion / break-in attempts)
  • Built-in GPS — routes, speed, location
  • Cloud storage (on select models)
  • Share clips with just a few taps
Disadvantages
  • Significantly higher cost
  • High power consumption — requires extra battery or hardwiring
  • Requires a large memory card (128GB or more)
  • Some models require a monthly subscription for advanced features
  • More complex installation and setup
Price range: ₪1,800–5,000 (equipment + installation)

🅿️ Parking Mode — Security Even When the Car is Off

One of the most important features in advanced dash cams — the ability to keep recording even while the car is parked and the engine is off. Provides 24/7 protection for your vehicle.

Wiring options to enable parking mode:

  • Separate battery (Cellink, BlackVue Power Magic): An additional lithium battery that charges while driving and powers the camera when parked. The safest option — won't drain your car's battery.
  • Permanent fuse box wiring (Hardwire Kit): Direct connection to the car's electrical system with Battery Discharge Protection — disconnects the camera if the battery drops below a set threshold.
  • OBD Connection: Quick connection via OBD port — not recommended for all vehicles, compatibility must be verified.

Parking recording modes:

  • Motion Detection: The camera only starts recording when motion is detected in front — efficient and economical mode.
  • Impact Detection: Automatic recording in case of impact (G-sensor) — saves the file from deletion.
  • Time-Lapse: Continuous recording at a few frames per second — significant savings in storage and energy, ideal for long parking sessions.

💡 What to Know Before Buying a Dash Cam

Important features to look for:

  • G-Sensor: Detects accidents and automatically protects the file from deletion — a must-have!
  • GPS: Records speed, route and exact location — important as legal evidence.
  • WDR/HDR: Technology that produces good image quality even in challenging lighting (sunrise, tunnels, night).
  • Night Vision: Essential for quality recordings at night and while parked.
  • Wide viewing angle: 140–170 degrees is considered optimal.
  • Loop Recording: When the card fills up, it automatically overwrites old files.

Memory cards — what to choose:

  • Type: microSD Class 10 or UHS-I (quality card = stable recording)
  • Recommended size: 64GB–128GB for most cameras, 256GB for 4K
  • It's important to choose cards designed for security/dash cameras — they're more durable for intensive writing (SanDisk High Endurance, Samsung PRO Endurance)
